Little Cooks Club Gives Back
Over the years, Little Cooks Club has helped many children in need — by providing gifts and classes; by donating old toys and clothes to underprivileged schools; by raising money for cancer and the rape crisis centre; and much more — and we hope to get involved with further projects that are close to our hearts. Let us know if you would like to help in any way, big or small. By passing this message along, you will also be helping us to get more people involved.
We would like to thank all those that have supported our charities.
Here are some of the projects that we’ve been involved in:
Reach for a Dream in Cape Town
The Little Cooks Club ladies in Cape Town hosted a day with the Reach for a Dream Foundation. The children had a wonderful day of cooking muffins, making homemade lemonade and then planting fresh vegetables. Many dreams were fulfilled and much fun and laughter was had by all.
Thank You from Reach for a Dream
Reach for a Dream sent us a lovely thank you letter for our ongoing support of their organisation: “Dear Little Cooks Club. We are exceptionally grateful for your ongoing support of Reach for a Dream and for the kindness and generosity you continue to show our organisation…”
Cooking Course for Domestic/School Leavers for St. Luke’s Hospice
Renate Lubbe, owner of the Little Cooks Club franchise in Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs, sponsored a basic home cooking course for domestic/school leavers for St Luke’s Hospice to auction.
Angels Walk at the Zoo
Little Cooks Club franchisees and their families came together to help raise money for Angels Walking for Cancer at the Johannesburg Zoo. Moms, dads, children, grandparents came in the freezing cold to raise money on 7th August 2011.
A Kids for Kids Event in Support of Jo’burg Child Welfare
On a cold winter morning, twenty creche-aged children gathered together in the cozy kitchen at Little Cooks Club in Fairland. They came to take part in a new initiative launched by Jo’burg Child Welfare, called Kids for Kids.
L’Italia at Montecasino
Eight Little Chefs from Little Cooks Club cooked for celebrities and contributed to the raising of over R20 000 for the Bidvest World Chefs Tour Against Hunger. The children worked so hard and did a beautiful job with the cooking as well as plating up. Well done and thank you, girls!
Reach for a Dream Class for Thulisile
Michelle Groenewald, owner of Little Cooks Club in Centurion, hosted a class for a very special little girl, Thulisile, from the Reach for a Dream Foundation.
